As we begin the process of marketing to sell your business, there are certain actions you can do to assist in getting the best buyer and the best price.

  • Provide us with required information in a timely manner.
  • Three years of complete financial statements and business tax returns
  • Latest monthly statements
  • Detailed category breakdowns
  • Working capital explanations
  • List of all tangible assets
  • List of all intangible assets and liabilities
  • List of employees
  • Relevant legal documents
  • Internal management information
  • List critical customers and/or vendors (Including %’s)
  • List of competitors
  • Company brochures and history

Thing to keep in mind when selling:

  • Work with us and never work directly with the buyer. You contracted us to market your business and we can negotiate the best price only if we are involved in all aspects of the transaction.
  • Disclose all relevant information to market the business. NO SURPRISES!
  • Keep normal working hours.
  • Do business as usual.
  • Keep the business clean and make necessary repairs.
  • Remove equipment or furniture that is not part of the sale.
  • Be as accommodating as possible in setting appointments to meet buyers.
  • Remember a negotiated deal is a deal that will close. We are required to bring you all offers. Do not be offended by what you consider to be a “low” offer. Counter all offers in a timely manner.
